PROGRAM DETAILS:

The Maryland Twisters take great pride in our Special Athlete cheer program. Our teams provide athletes the opportunity to compete and exhibition in their own division alongside their peers at all-star cheerleading venues. They perform an all-star routine just like any other team, choreographed with stunting, tumbling and dance.

Organized in 2002, Eye of the Storm was the very first Twister cheer team for athletes with special needs. Eye of the Storm has earned numerous national titles over the last 16 seasons. They are 4-time NCA, 3-time Cheersport National Champions and 3-time At-Large Bid Winners to The Cheerleading World’s to be part of the CheerAbilities Performance Showcase.  This past season, they represented the USA at the ICU World Championships receiving a Silver Medal. Eye of the Storm competes and travels the same schedule as the Maryland Twisters travel teams.

Our second team, Storm Chasers, was organized in 2007 to show our continuing dedication to athletes with special needs with interests in cheerleading at the local level. Storm Chasers is our exhibition team. They perform at 4-5 local competitions each season.

Thanks to the dedication of the coaching staff and the unwavering support from the entire Twisters cheer program, Maryland Twisters has one of the most decorated Special Athlete programs in the country!

Please come and join the Twisters family!
